To apply to Heart of Christ you will need to:
- Apply to Avila Institute School of Spiritual Formation
- When accepted (by Avila), contact the Directors of Heart of Christ for information about the Exercises
- Take 2 of the required courses for the Spiritual Direction Certificate Program at Avila, then you may
- Complete an Application to Heart of Christ and include a picture of yourself
- Request official transcript from Avila on the Resource tab of the Spiritual Direction Certificate Program Group page
- Send 2 letters of reference (one from your pastor and one supporting letter, preferably from your spiritual director, if you have one)
Note: Letters of reference should be mailed (or emailed) directly to Heart of Christ - Include a personal statement expressing your interest in becoming a spiritual director (approximately 100-150 words)
- Send $25 application fee (non-refundable)
- An interview will be scheduled when application, picture, fee and letters have been received Please note, this interview is required before acceptance into the Heart of Christ program
- All materials may be emailed or sent through mail

Applications may be submitted after completing 2 courses, but all 4 courses must be completed by April 30 to be eligible for the June program.
The Exercises must be completed by May 31 to be eligible to attend in June.
